DD-WRT /
U.S.Robotics USR5461
- Purchased 2013-02-01 from Deseret Industries for $3 without power adapter.
- Can use power adapter from my SCSI ZIP drive.
- 2MB ROM / 8MB RAM
- This router was upgraded 2013-02-02 to DD-WRT v24-sp2 (08/07/10) micro (SVN revision 14896).
- Upgrading to DD-WRT went smoothly using the detailed instructions from the wiki. I used the second method, that is, I added the USR header to the binary file, and renamed it with a .usr extension. With that file ready, I simply used the router's web interface to upgrde the firmware. All worked perfectly.
- I set the router to be a client-bridge at address 192.168.1.5.
- 2013-02-02: Reverted to factory firmware 3.93.35.0.6 using the TFTP method:
- Disconnect, then reconnect, power to router
- Immediately run (on WinXP):
- tftp -i 192.168.1.5 put USR5461_firmware_3.93.35.0.6.usr
- Retry as necessary (this required a couple of failed attempts before the transfer would 'take')...
- ...until 'Transfer successful' message
- Wait 5 minutes
- Restore factory settings by pressing and holding reset button for more than 10 seconds
- 2013-02-02: Updated factory firmware to 3.39.35.0.8 via the router's web interface.
