Linksys E1500
- Purchased 2016-06-16 from Deseret Industries w/o power adapter for $3.
- Factory firmware v1.0.00 (2011-01-28) installed, with MAC of C0:C1:C0:90:6F:1C.
- 8MB ROM / 32MB RAM
- 2016-06-16: Updated to factory firmware 1.0.6
- 2016-06-16: Upgraded to DD-WRT v24-sp2 (05/27/13) mini (SVN revision 21676), using instructions given in the DD-WRT wiki:
- Reset to factory defaults in Linksys GUI.
- Installed DD-WRT suggested 'mini' build using the Linksys GUI firmware update page.
- Installed DD-WRT 'big' build using DD-WRT GUI firmware update page.
- Acted a little squirrelly until I performed a 30/30/30 reset, then power cycle.
- Configured as a wireless client bridge. All works fine.
2019-04-06 Configured as ARpit router
Today I configured this router as the main household router, duplicating the settings from the Netgear WNR834B-v2 that I've been using for the past few years, and setting up with a Guest Network using the instructions found on the DD-WRT wiki (https://wiki.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Guest_Network), and enabling VPN. I'm hoping that the VPN will work with this unit running a newer build of DD-WRT, since I have not had success with VPN connections on the Netgear running build 14929.
- 2023-02-11: Upgraded to DD-WRT v3.0-r47090 mega (07/26/21). This is the NEWD nvram64k version of the generic Broadcom build.
