June 20, 2025, Friday Rewired the "Main" CAT5 cable in the Shop:
- Removed the RJ11 wallplate jack using Blue and Orange pairs
- Wired an RJ25 telephone snap-in module using Blue and Orange pairs
- Wired an RJ45 Ethernet snap-in module using Green and Brown pairs
- Installed modules in a 2-place snap-in wall plate and mounted the wall plate
Telephone jack with 4 conductors on RJ25 (6P6C):

Ethernet jack with 4 conductors on RJ45 (which limits speeds to FastEthernet 100Mbps; 8 conductors needed for Gigabit Ethernet). Because the Orange pair is already committed to the USOC phone standard, the Brown pair is used in place of the Orange:
