- More snow today. About 3 inches.
- Arranged to have the driveway plowed tomorrow through "Richie" who removed the Rodgers' outdoor tree lights.
- Finished cleaning the kitchen cabinets.
- Cleaned the Warming Drawer.
- Cleaned the Range Hood, while Rebecca cleaned the hood filters (x2). Hard old grease, very tough to get cleaned. Used concentrated Dawn dishwashing soap for best results, though a specific grease cleaner/cutter would be better.
2024-02-06
- Light snow overnight, warming throughout the day to around 41 degrees
- "Charles" came around 7:45 and plowed the driveway, it continued to melt in the mild temperature.
- Finished cleaning the Thermidor gas range (not the electric ovens, yet). All burners work fine. A real mess, but cleaned up pretty well.
- Re-installed the two overhead range hood filters that Rebecca cleaned so that they look brand new.
2024-02-07, Wednesday
- Removed kick-plate from range and cleaned out underneath with brush and vacuum. No evidence of rodents!
- Started cleaning kitchen floor with diluted Pine-Sol. Did area working areas to raised edge of island. Black water. Ugly floor tile, but clean.
2024-02-08, Thursday
- Foggy, but no new snow, driveway melted on lower section.
- Finished cleaning kitchen floor from island to family room and hallway.
- Called Thermador for owners manual, but was told "too old" and that was that. Pretty lousy.
- Hung sheets in rear entry area windows and door, and new patterned sheers in door side-lights.
2024-02-21, Tuesday
- Cold, overcast, but dry
- "Dennis" and "Cliff" from LD Security came to rekey the locks and install new deadbolts and knobs on various doors, making them all same key
- Dennis was unable to finish up and will return next Tuesday (the 27th)
- Removed old incandescent bulbs, replacing them with 40W (equiv) LED candelabra bulbs on attached garage exterior (x5 3 bulbs each), and the front porch sconces (x2 4 bulbs each)
- Cleaned the front port sconces glass inside and out, and the fixtures inside and out. The north fixture appears to have suffered some damage, dents and misshapen sheet metal.
2024-02-23, Friday
- Went in person to FirstSource to ask about replacing both the Interior and Exterior garage man doors which have pet door cutouts. "Chad" will come out for a looksee next Saturday, March 1.
- The doors are 94" x 36" (interior) and 80" x 36" (exterior)
- Reprogrammed the Intermatic J500 light switch in the shop that controls the exterior lights.
2024-02-24, Saturday
- Sky clear
- Installed 12 bulbs in shop front exterior fixtures, using 40w (equiv) candelabra LED bulb. Western-most fixture has no front glass; needs replacement.
- "Travin" from the overhead doors company came to look over garage and shop doors; determined that the Lift-Master Security+ openers are "red button"; we decided that we need:
- x4 3-button remotes
- exterior keypad for attached garage
- gear kit for center shop opener, gears are presently stripped
- Bottom gasket/seal (9 foot length) for #2 bay door of attached garage
- Travin will be back next Saturday to install these items
2024-02-25, Sunday
- clear sky, warming, roof nearly clear except for ice dame over south-side front porch
- Installed 40W equiv LED bulbs in balcony exterior fixtures (2 bulbs each).
- Installed 60W equiv LED bulbs in front porch overhang, 2 bulbs. One fixture had no bulb, the other had an unkown wattage medium base but oversized bulb.
- Discovered that the under-cabinet lights use a G4 12v halogen lamp 10-15 watts
